My Process

Burning envelope for Frey Aurburn

Purpose

The Postmaster short film needed graphics to build up a believable setting to immerse the viewers on social media before the film was released. These graphics also helped share updates about the film's progress and the overal brand of the film.

The Postmaster stamp

The Postmaster Stamp

The stamp was created through the manipulation of another stamp using Photoshop. It is used as The Postmaster's logo and the stamp of the character, The Postmaster, in the film.

UPPS Logo Show Program inside

UPPS Logo

Inspired by the USPS logo, the logo of the United Postal & Parcel Services recognizes the back bone of their delivery service, pigeons. The logo aligns it's colors with the American flag and hides any sign of affiliations with secret missions.

Photoshopped Photos

These two photos are photoshopped images for the viewers on Instagram to create immersion before the short film was released.

Indiegogo Announcement

Social Media Announcement

Instagram was a way to keep viewers aware of announcements and updates. This illustration of a pigeon lets the viewers know of a fundraising event happening while including the pigeon motif.

The Postmaster Short Film Movie Poster

Movie Poster

The envelope on the movie poster raises questions in the viewer asking why the envelope is burning, who is Frey Auburn, and who's blood is on the envelope? These questions can only be answered if the viewer watches the film.

Conclusion

Creating graphics for The Postmaster Short Film gave me the opportunity to flex my photoshop skills to create fictional images and practice designing logos again. Working on The Postmaster was also a reminder of how much I enjoy designing movie posters. The movie poster becomes the face of a film, displaying the story with only an image, and a form of design I'd like to improve on in future opportunities. I really enjoyed being part of the creation of this fictional world.
